As we face the daunting task of having to work from home and social distance for the next month or so, it can get pretty lonely and very frustrating. Everyone across the globe is starting to rally together to figure out ways that we can stay connected and close but… far apart. Apps such as Zoom and House Party have never been more important to everyone’s sanity, so we’ve done a breakdown on what they are and how to get the most of these video chat apps during this difficult time!
House Party
Houseparty is an app in which you can video chat with up to eight people at the same time whilst playing fun quizzes and other interactive games.
After you download the app and create an account, you can sync all your personal contacts and ask them to join your personal house party. You can choose to have the house party open so others can join or you can lock the room so it can stay between a select few.
Zoom
Zoom has been used for both personal and work calls and has outstanding video and audio quality. With Zoom, you can talk to over a hundred people at the same time! It is now one of the largest video chatting services in the world, rivaling giants such as Skype.
Although there have been some concerns with Zoom’s privacy, it’s perfectly fun to use for daily catch-ups or business meetings that are not sharing sensitive information.
We recommend you have a go at using these apps to remain close with your loved ones over these hard times to come; especially if you’re social distancing on your own. It’s been shown that people who socialize often with friends and family are at a lower risk of suffering with severe anxiety, so be sure to stay positive and keep chatting!
